I'm looking at buying a Honda Civic that the guy says has a '98 Spec-R swap in it. I was wondering how I could tell the difference between a B18C and a B18C Spec-R or if there is a way to visually tell a difference in the two? I know all Type R's will have the P73 head and red valve cover unless changed.

I asked for more pictures of the engine and an up close picture of where the block is stamped but here's the car and here's the pictures of the engine I have for it so far HRubss I'm a gearheAd.

Sent from my iPhone 2g. My question is How can I tell the difference? There should be a molded stamp somewhere on the block which says B18C5, I forget where though.

If you can't find it, I guess once it's installed see where it redlines. Also, check the tranny to see if it has a limited slip. I know my ctr engine does On the outside it will look exactly like the c1 since they're both integra 1. Your best bet is to look for that little stamp on there. Sorry I couldn't help you out more. In addition, will that stamp be able to redulpicate and put on the engine? New posts. Search forums.

I think that he is talking about what is the diffrence between the jdm b18c sir-G and the usdm b18c1. Compresion is a tad higher in the JDM version along with less emissions stuff and a better flowing intake manifold.

I thought that the SiR-G had the same intake manny??
